TQ-RoboDrive, a business unit of the TQ-Group, develops and manufactures compact frameless motors and customized actuators for applications with high demands on torque density, installation space, weight, dynamics and precision. The technology has its roots in robotics research at the German Aerospace Center (DLR) and was developed for demanding robotic applications.
For humanoid robotics, the cost-optimized ILM-E Series combines high torque density, low weight and compact dimensions with a design suited to scalable applications and higher production volumes. Automated manufacturing processes support repeatable series production, while different diameters, axial lengths and electrical configurations allow adaptation to specific joint requirements.

With its Assembly & Integration Service, TQ-RoboDrive supports customers beyond motor selection and can take an actuator concept from initial design review to a fully assembled and tested unit. The service can include component selection and sourcing, procurement, assembly, integration, testing and quality assurance through to delivery. This enables humanoid developers to reduce interfaces between suppliers and move from motor design-in to a ready-to-ship actuator with one engineering and manufacturing partner.
