How Netzer’s Electric Encoder™ Works | High-Precision Absolute Capacitive Encoder
Netzer’s Electric Encoder™ achieves ±0.001° angular precision using non-contact capacitive sensing. No magnets, no optics, no physical contact, and no calibration ever required. Here is how it works.
How the Electric Encoder Works:
- The Electric Encoder uses a fixed stator and a rotating rotor
- The stator projects a continuous electric field toward the rotor
As the rotor turns, the field pattern changes. Netzer’s encoder translates those analog sine and cosine signals into a precise digital angular reading, capturing the full 360 degrees in every single measurement. Absolute position is available from the moment power is applied. No homing sequence, no initialization delay.
